conference dinner

On the evening of the first day of the event (Monday 4th July, 7.30) we will be holding a conference dinner. This will take place in Fusion café, who have organised an excellent menu for us at £18.50 per head (excluding drinks).  As Fusion is unlicensed we will need to bring our own wine – obtainable from Tesco or Sainsbury’s supermarkets, both under five minutes walk away. Fusion is directly opposite the SIA gallery -where there will be an opening night drinks reception and view of the exhibition – the meal will follow this event.  Please let me know as soon as possible if you wish to attend the conference dinner, stating also any specific dietary requirements you might have, which Fusion will be very happy to accommodate.  The menu – see below – has a balance of meat, fish and vegetarian options.




Locally reared pressed pork terrine served with piquant chutney and dressed leaves.

Smoked haddock rarebit served over a tomato salad with a creamed wholegrain mustard sauce.

Warm salad of chicken and crispy fried chorizo sausage finished with a balsamic reduction.

Whiskey cured salmon served with pickles, rye bread and crème fraiche

Warm baked goat’s cheese served on toasted croute with dressed salad leaves and a honey and wholegrain mustard red onion confit

Mushroom pate served with autumn salad leaves, crispy fried onions, toasted sourdough and pumpkin chutney



Pan fried medallions of beef served on a roasted field mushroom rich red wine reduction

Moroccan style fish tagine with white beans roasted peppers

Braised green beans with tomatoes, garlic and goats cheese.

Pan fried sea bass fillet served over a seasonal ratatouille finished with a lemon and caper oil

Herb polenta cake with crispy spiced aubergine fritters and fennel crème fraiche

Studded slow roasted leg of lamb served with a lamb stock reduction with dark brown sugar, red wine vinegar and mint



Warm spiced berry compote with floating meringue and thick cream

Lemon posset with homemade ginger cookies.

Cheese plate with fruit, biscuits and chutney.

Bitter chocolate tart served with a chilled mocha anglaise

Warm brioche and butter pudding (any flavour)

Frangipane tart with berries and thick cream
